We are excited to announce the next feature in our 2017 NH Re-skill-ience Workshop Series, hands-on workshops focusing on homesteading, sustainable living, and traditional bushcraft skills. Workshops are designed to help participants develop skills and knowledge that strengthen personal and community resilience.  The next workshop, Apple Cider Pressing with Kimball Packard, takes place on Wednesday, October 18th from 4:30-6:30pm, at The Farmstand at 1118 Page Hill Rd, Tamworth, NH.

Everyone will get a chance to learn how to make apple cider from start to finish. The workshop will start with an introduction about the history of cider, growing apples, and the different apple varieties that make the best cider. Kimball will discuss options for blending varieties together, and well as proper sanitation and food safety. There will also be a brief introduction to the process of making hard cider.

This workshop is located on Kimball’s property where he and Neysa have their own old apple orchard. Throughout the evening, participants will go through the process of washing the apples and putting the press to work. Everyone will get a chance to help in the grinding and pressing process. Here’s the best part: everyone will leave with a half gallon of their own pressed cider! We hope you will join us in making this wonderful, sweet, and delicious fall classic.

This workshop takes place on Wednesday, October 18th from 4:30-6:30pm at 1118 Page Hill Rd in Tamworth, NH. The cost to participate in the workshop is $20.
