Bike & Walk to Work/School Day was Pedal Powered & Popular!

Last Friday, May 13, droves of “walking buses” made their way to school in celebration of Bike & Walk to Work/School Day in Wolfeboro! The weather cooperated quite well as people pumped up the tires or laced up their walking shoes and got outside in the beautiful spring weather. Avoiding those clunky cars for your commute to work is a great way to get some exercise, reduce traffic, save money on gas and wear and tear on your car. It also presents a nice change to say hello to neighbors and fellow zero-carbon commuters.

As a token of appreciation for participants, the Wolfeboro Parks & Rec, Pathways Committee, and G.A.L.A. setup stations along Main St at Cate Park and in front of Huggins Hospital where folks could stop in for a cup of coffee, juice, fruit and donuts, and of course pedal-powered smoothies!

This week marks the beginning of the Commute Green NH Challenge taking place, May 16th-20th. Click here for more details about Commute Green NH.
