Community Contra Dance, Sat. April 22nd

This Saturday, April 22nd is the fourth Saturday GALA Contra Dance, at the Great Hall in Wolfeboro’s Town Hall from 7-10.

No partners needed, family friendly, and dancing is easily learned by all ages in the first couple dances of the evening.

Favorite local Byron Ricker of Holderness will call the dances. The Fiddling Thomsons, joined by Paul Mangion and Demaris have an unusually wide array of musical styles, making this a particularly delightful dance band.

[Note for your calendar! In May and June the 4th Saturday Contra series will take a break, making room for a pair of Sunday afternoon rare Mostly Waltz dances, with a 1 hour class to start each. Free to you due to a sponsorship, these will be a perfect way for the public to prepare for the summer party, wedding and prom season. The dates, Mother’s Day, and Father’s Day, make them particularly inviting for kids and parents to celebrate together!]

The Contra Dance admission is $8.00-adults; $5.00- 6-18; 5-and under free. Large families or those under financial hardship are encouraged to pay only as able since all are welcome!. Bring an extra pair of non-black-soled shoes, or brush them at the door to protect the wooden floors.  See GALA at, for volunteering or more information or contact, 603-539-6460.
