Your Donation Makes a Difference!

It is thanks to donations from people like you that G.A.L.A.  is able to undertake its mission through the creation of Carroll County’s Community Makerspace located in Wolfeboro, NH.  Here, people come together to develop and share their gifts and skills in ways that build a culture of innovation, collaboration, and agency. We believe that when given access to the right collection of tools, equipment, mentorship and coaching, and a supportive environment to experiment, fail safely, and try again, we are creating the conditions that foster a healthy community, economy and environment, and rewarding livelihoods.

From a time capsule perspective, the Makerspace leaped into reality in 2017 when an awesome local grassroots campaign raised funds to match a large grant from Northern Borders Regional Commission, that enabled G.A.L.A. to purchase outright the building at 23 Bay St, Wolfeboro. During the period 2018-2020 additional fundraising and grants have been, and continue to be, directed towards a lot of behind-the-scenes ground work such as community visioning sessions, a feasibility study, strategic business plan, architectural & engineering designs, environmental reviews, and minor interior upgrades. If all goes to plan, the renovations will start in the summer of 2020 and phase 1 of construction completed in 2021, allowing the space to be used for limited programs and activities. Phase 2  construction – mostly interior – is planned for completion by 2023.

Your donation is needed to support the bricks-and-mortar work of building the Makerspace AND to ensure the organization has the sustainable operational capacity (i.e. staff and resources) to carry out and coordinate the work this community-building hub requires to be successful.

So please give as generously as you can, please give today, and consider giving over the next few years it will take to complete your community Makerspace. Thank you!

G.A.L.A. can  accept donations online, over the phone, and  through the mail.  We also have planned giving options to sustain your G.A.L.A. legacy into the future.  All these options are summarized below.
