Local organization Global Awareness Local Action (G.A.L.A.) is excited to announce the next feature in their 2017 NH Re-skill-ience Workshop Series, hands-on workshops focusing on homesteading, sustainable living, and traditional bushcraft skills. Workshops are designed to help participants develop skills and knowledge that strengthen personal and community resilience. The next workshop, Wildcrafting Food & Medicine Series (Summer Session), takes place on Tuesday, July 25th from 5:30 - 7:30pm, at the Barn at Moody Mountain at 100 Pork Hill Rd. Please park on the road outside the driveway.
Carol is an incredibly skilled and practiced herbalist. We are so lucky that this will be the third of four workshops hosted by Carol Felice during 2017. The summer session has much to offer, just take a look outside! It is quite verdant out there. Many of the blossoms have even come and gone and much of the natural environment has now gone to seed. Carol can now teach us the different local plants you can forage for food and medicine during this summer season.
Participants will learn to recognize wild summer edibles by sight, texture, and sometimes even sound, scent, and taste! Folks will learn their properties and how wild edibles can be used in a variety of forms. Nearly all of these plants are also beneficial as medicine and for healing. On Tuesday, we will be harvesting plants to make an infused medicinal oil that you will then be able to take home with you.
Please be prepared for the outdoors -- sun, rain, bugs, and walking on uneven terrain. Bring a notebook and/or camera to aid your learning process. You will need to bring a tiny and very clean glass jar with a tight fitting lid (for example a baby food or other 2 oz. jar). It would be great to bring a handled harvest basket, if you have one, or something to harvest your plants in.
7/25/2017 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM ET
