Introduction to Sociocracy (a.k.a. Dynamic Governance)

6/17/2019 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM ET

Finding that despite great and noble intentions, lack of clear roles and process seems to gum the gears and slow progress toward your overall aim?  G.A.L.A. is excited to partner with Sociocracy For All in offering this rich introduction to Sociocracy, a governance system that supports healthy group process.  Sociocracy has a strong focus on equality and effectiveness and is used worldwide in a variety of organizations; for-profits and non-profits alike. A way to be inclusive and get things done well.

The workshop leader is Jerry Koch-Gonzalez, co-founder of Sociocracy For All and co-author of the Sociocracy manual Many Voices, One Song

In this workshop, we will provide an overview of the basic concepts of sociocracy: how we make decisions, how we empower and connect teams and how we can improve continuously over time. We will do exercises and role plays so that everyone can experience the clarity, consideration and flow that sociocracy brings.

Topics
- Deciding together so that no-one is ignored (consent)
- A place for everything and everything in its place: organizational structure
- Linking: connecting teams for more flow of information
- Being intentional about who does what: open elections and roles
- Learning and feedback: how we can improve what we do and how we do it
