Local organizations Global Awareness Local Action (G.A.L.A.) and Jack Mountain Bushcraft School have collaborated to bring a Monthly Self Reliance Workshop Series to the NH Lakes Region, with the next workshop on April 9th. These workshops highlight homesteading, sustainable living, and bushcraft skills taught by local instructors. The goal of the series is to help participants increase their skill sets while boosting personal and community resiliency.
The workshop for the month of April is titled: Fly Fishing: Gear, Knot Tying, and Casting and will be taught by Jack Mountain Bushcraft School’s founding director and registered Maine Guide, Tim Smith. Participants will explore the use of fly rods and reels, different types of flies and their uses, how tie the appropriate knots, and of course, practice their casting! Feel free to bring a rod of your own if you have one. This workshop is open to all levels of experience.
This workshop takes place from 5:30pm to 8:00pm, at the Kingswood Youth Center (565 Center Street, Wolfeboro). The cost to participate in the workshop is $15.00. Please call 603-539-6460, email firstname.lastname@example.org or CLICK HERE to register or for more information.
