As part of the Wolfeboro-Area Earth Day 40th Anniversary Celebration, Global Awareness Local Action (G.A.L.A.) is participating in a statewide backyard composting bin and rainwater barrel sale. Through April 2nd, 2010, a home compost bin and how-to guide with a combined retail value of $100 can be purchased for only $45. The bin is black, has a 10-year warranty, and is made of 100% recycled plastic. It’s approximately 33″ high and 33″ wide, or large enough for a family of five. For an additional $10 you will receive a kitchen pail to collect food scraps by your sink before disposing them in your outdoor bin. Large 55 gallon rainwater barrels made from high density poly-ethylene up to 50% recycled plastic with a retail value of $120, will also be made available for only $65. These rainwater barrels will include all accessories necessary to attach the barrel to any existing downspout system.

Order forms can be picked up at the Wolfeboro Town Office or the Wolfeboro Transfer Station. They can also be downloaded here. Contact Pat Jones for more information by calling 569-0031 or email pdjwolf@localnet.com.
