The G.A.L.A. Pitchfork award goes to an individual who’s contribution and involvement knows no boundaries. They are literally “always pitching in.” As a result, this person often wears many G.A.L.A. hats and is equally invested in the day to day programming and operations as they are they big picture, strategic visioning and administration.
This year’s award has found the perfect match, and she is certainly no stranger to the pitchfork. She has risen to occasion at countless G.A.L.A. Sustain-A-Raisers over the last few years, helping local families, schools, and food pantries grow food, conserve energy and water, and strengthen the overall sense of community.
She has helped start what has become a highly popular Winter Contra Dance Series at theOssipee Town Hall, providing many locals with the best cure for frosty February’s cabin fever, not to mention the most sustainable way to stay warm on cold winter night. She successfully completed G.A.L.A.’s eighty-hour Permaculture Design Certification course, which only adds to her existing credentials as a Certified Herbalist.
She is a respected member of the G.A.L.A. Board of Directors, demonstrating leadership with everything from strategic planning to fundraising, to our membership campaign.
She is positive and playful. She drives a cool car with lots of stickers. She raises trout. She’s the Chaga Champion. She is as a G.A.L.A. go-getter.
CONGRATULATIONS JESSICA COLE!
