Liz Rice receives Volunteer of the Month!

October’s Volunteer of the Month award goes to Elizabeth “Liz” Rice! The success of this year’s Farm to Table Feast is largely due to the hard work and commitment from Liz.  Between catering consulting and baking the delectable desserts, Liz donated more than 60 hours of her time over the last two months to ensure the event was a success.  G.A.L.A. is immensely grateful and appreciative of your dedication Liz, thank you, so much.

Pictured above Liz (left) and culinary partner in crime, Siobhan Magee (right), suit up for the final dinner preparations as guests begin arriving to the Moody Mt. Barn for the feast.  In addition to orchestration at large, Liz and Siobhan were also responsible for individual courses on the Menu.  Liz’s desserts included Goat’s Milk & Honey Cheesecake, as well as a Carmel Apple Shortcake with Cinnamon Whipped Cream.  Siobhoan tackled the main entree – Stuffed Pork Loin.

Liz has also donated many of her baked goods to other G.A.L.A. fundraisers including the First Night Chili & Chowda’ Soup Sale.  She is also a regular at the Wolfeboro Area Farmers’ Market and does her best to support local farms whenever she can.  Thank you Liz, and congratulations! We hope your volunteer experience has been as rewarding for you as it has us, and we look forward to your future involvement!

Siobhan’s culinary masterpieces and Liz’s delectable desserts can be found at The Restaurant in downtown Wolfeboro.  If you stop by for lunch or dinner, be sure to thank them for their impressive contribution at this year’s Farm to Table Feast.  You may also reach Liz directly for an order from her business, “Elizabeth Rice Desserts”, by calling 703-549-0413.
