The Slow Food Carroll County Board has been finalizing the menu for its second annual fundraising dinner on May 7th, featuring an array of traditional recipes from around the world, based on food sourced from local area farms. The multi course menu, designed by Nadine San Antonio, offers taste treats sure to tantalize vegetarians and meat lovers alike.
The event will take place at the YMCA Camp Belknap in Tuftonboro, NH, overlooking Lake Winnipesaukee. A mini-farmers market will be available in Conlon Lodge, starting at 5:30 PM, will precede dinner, set to start at 6:30 PM.
Proceeds from the event will be shared with Kingswood Regional High School’s, Knights Against Hunger, formed by students in response to their research findings during an American Government class, discovering that approximately 33 % of Kingswood students receive free or reduced lunches. Of these 261 students, those most in need will discretely have available to them a backpack full of diverse and nutritious food to bring with them for the weekend. The school’s guidance counselor will designate these students anonymously.
Tickets for the May 7th event, priced at $30 each are on sale at Black’s Gift Shop and Paper Store on S. Main Street in Wolfeboro, NH.
