What is Permaculture? A Film By D Acres, this Friday.

Permaculture Film at the Grange Hall Friday March 18th, 7pm

Founded in 1997, D Acres is an educational resource for the community conducting research and teaching techniques and skills for sustainable living and small-scale organic farming. Through these efforts, the organization aims to improve the human relationship with the environment and display the farm and its practices as an exemplar of healthy living. In addition, the organization supports educational activities directed toward improving the quality of life of local residents and the larger community.

Josh Trought is the Executive Director of D Acres, and he has served the organization for the past 10 years. During this time, he has developed and implemented the vision of D Acres, i.e., commitment to educating others about environmental stewardship of land/forests and working toward a framework of community-shared decision-making.

Permaculture is an integrated and holistic study of sustainable design and implementation. This video showcases the practical applications of Permaculture at D Acres Organic Permaculture Farm & SustainAbility Center in Dorchester NH.

Shot over the course of four seasons, renewable energy, food preservation, animal husbandry, forest gardening, no-till agriculture, compost toilets, root cellars and greenhouses are highlighted. Josh Trought, producer and director at D Acres will be on hand for Q&A following the viewing. Viewing time approximately 40 minutes.
