Wolfeboro Curbside CleanUp Day May 5th!

Thanks to all those volunteers who came out on Saturday, May 5th to help with the annual Curbside Cleanup Day organized by the Wolfeboro Solid Waste and G.A.L.A.  Together volunteers, with the help of town employees, filled over 100 blue bags with roadside trash – what an impact!!  Folks met at the Town Garage to pickup bags, gloves, and trash “pickers” and then chose a street to tackle – Bay St., Glendon, Beech Pond, Pleasant Valley, Cross St. North Line, South Main, Clark, and on and on!  This beautification “drive” brings in hundreds of pounds of litter that would otherwise mar our scenic byways and pollute the soil and water ecosystems.  Thank you for helping rid the town of litter by taking part in this annual Spring cleaning! And a special thank to the Wolfeboro Solid Waste crew who collected the bags of litter and heroically go through each one to sort glasses, cans, and other materials that can be recycled.
